Sad day for DCSMAT group of Institutions

on: January 01, 2018In: HighlightsNo Comments

We regret to announce the demise of the Chairman of DCSMAT Governing Council, Professor M. V. Pylee on Saturday, 30th December 2017.

Prof. Pylee, a distinguished educationist was the third Vice Chancellor of the Cochin University of Science and Technology, and founder director of the School of Management Studies at the University. He was a well-known authority on the Constitution of India, a pioneer in management education and an eminent administrator. Prof. Pylee had taught at the universities of Lucknow, Patna, Delhi, Kerala and Cochin and was a Director on the Faculty of the Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad. He was awarded Padmabhushan in 2006 by Government of India for his contributions to the fields of education and management.

Prof. Pylee was actively involved with DCSMAT Group of Institutions as the Chairman of the Governing Council, guiding the institution through the various stages of its growth. During the initial years, he would personally come to the campus, and interact with students and faculty members, engaging these stakeholders in institution building.

The students, staff and management of DCSMAT Group of Institutions fondly remember this guiding force and will truly miss this luminary and the hand – holding we received all these years.
