Panel Discussion on “Career Options and Prospects”was undertaken at DCSMAT Vagamon auditorium on March 14th 2017, today at 3.15 PM for the students of MBA 1618 Batch, with respect to their specialisation status.
Prof Baiju Samuel, Coordinator, MBA 1618 welcomed the gathering. The Panel discussion was lead by Dr Umesh Neelakantan, Principal. Other panelists were Dr Jayachandran.V, Dr Sreenivas Kuppachi, Dr Satheesh Kumar.T.N, Dr Elizabeth, Prof Thomas.V.George, and Prof Jayan.
Dr Umesh Neelakantan, introduced and presented the relevance of choosing the electives. It was observed and highlighted that any choice by means should enhance the quality value of a youngster and should recognise the value of human transformations evolved through improved career profiling.
Prof Thomas George spoke about career prospects in campus placements. It was noted that DCSMAT placements has reached a record breaking status for 2017 pass outs, with more than 150 offer letters for students.Each panel member comprehensively covered the importance and opportunities associated with each elective and the core competence that could be derived from each specific course. Panelists also generated the involvement of students in inculcating the status of thought perspectives for associating academics with industry prospects. Emphasis on student add on courses and projects were also discussed.
The panelists addressed the requirement of a transformed understanding in youngsters, while choosing the electives. The panelists addressed the gathering on the requirement for a deep conceptual back up and understanding for each elective, an integrated understanding of academics, experiential learning and career prospects. The platform also acknowledged and recognised the legacy of DCSMAT placements, where in students were placed because of authenticated academic back ups. Organisations like Deloitte, TCS, Infosys, Vodafone, Pepsi, Quicksilver, TBWA liked the DCSMAT richness in experiential learning.
Question and answer session catered to the interest thoughts of students. Queries were posted by students regarding the prospects of choosing an elective for domestic and global scenario. Discussions were also held on the advantage of one elective over the other. Panelists observed that all choices by students should be self evolved and the youngsters should keep the spirits of making their career rich with professional value systems
